Layered started as a shared obsession between two engineers who couldn't find a print farm precise enough for their own robotics builds. What began as late nights reverse-engineering tolerances quickly turned into a dedicated pursuit of mechanical perfection.
Frustrated by the lack of affordable, high-precision manufacturing for student and independent engineering teams, our founders spent months rebuilding the entire workflow from the ground up — not just running printers, but re-engineering every layer, mesh, and wall for repeatable results.
Today, that same obsessive attention to detail governs every print we ship.
